This is a stop motion animation with a pair of boots as the protagonist. They are a pair of adventure boots. They passing through the desert and encountering fantasy. They are walking on the desert but suddenly they encountering an illusion, then they passing through the jungle. The reason I used mushroom and jungle background it’s because that give people a sense of mystery.

Mushrooms are also divided into non-toxic and poisonous. The more colourful and unique mushrooms are poisonous and that is the most interesting and mysterious things of the mushroom. Even they are dangerous but still have many people love this risks. And it’s like an adventure that need to take a risks but still attract many people to take risks to feel the excitement unique experience.

I was also influenced by “A trip on the moon”. As one of the earliest stunt sci-fi movies, the sci-fi bizarreness in the movie is very interesting, and the fantasy story makes me want to create a bizarre adventure story. I use the stop-motion method to get out of my comfort zone and make the props and shooting to make animations and I very enjoy the process to make the animation because I can feel a lot of the character.

The story style is a thrilling adaptation of a fairy tale, Hansel & Gretel. The content is the life of the brothers returning home after escaping from the candy house. According to the fairy tale background, it took place in the era of poor supplies in the Middle Ages. After the terrible experience of being almost eaten by a witch and killing a witch, I think these are all very affecting the thinking and spiritual development of a child. So I set the brother to have mental problems due to these influences. He will see hallucinations that scare him. Fortunately, he and his sister have been by his side to face him, even if there is a problem in the process.

The reason why I created this adaptation story it’s probably is inspired my feeling during the lockdown, at the time in lockdown I was in a relatively low mood that impact me to make a negative story. At the first time, I wanted the story to be positive and interesting, but later I found that it was more suitable to draw a more negative content based on my own situation, and it it seemed to express my inner feelings. I hope there is a role like Gretel can help me solve the bad situation or just stay together to face of difficulties.

故事風格驚悚的改編童話故事，Hansel & Gretel. 內容是這對兄弟逃離糖果屋之後回到家的生活，根據童話背景是發生在中世紀物資較貧乏的時代，這對兄妹面對的現實問題和家庭問題外，還有經歷過差點被巫婆吃掉和殺掉巫婆這種可怕經歷後，我認為這些都是非常影響一個小孩的思想，精神發展。所以我將哥哥設定為因這些影響而導致他有精神上的問題，他會看見令他恐懼的幻覺，而幸好的是他還有妹妹一直在他身邊陪著面對，就算過程中出現問題。

而這些創作原意都是來自我自己當時的感受，當時我處於Lockdown，情緒比較低落。最初我是希望故事走向是正面的並有趣，但後來發現以自己的情況畫一個較負面的內容更適合，而且我認為在畫這個故事時亦像是表達我內心的感受。希望在面對困難時有一個像Gretel的角色幫助我。
