A R T I S T S T A T E M E N T
Mainly a maker of sculptural and installation-based work, current exploration revolves around mourning and grief, whilst focusing on her personal journey of bereavement and reminiscence. She works with materials such as silicone, latex and rubber to make her sculptures often incorporating everyday found items into her work. Visually, her practice explores the uncanny, relying on empathic experiences to confront her audience head-on.
Her interest extends outside to the curatorial field. Kristy has curated two exhibitions over the past two years. She also manages a curating Instagram page under the name i.kurate to create projects and opportunities for emerging artists.
