About Artist

Artist Statement
Wan Kounen works with photography as a way of staying in motion. His images are often made in transit — on trains, in passing streets, in moments that resist being held. Rather than documenting places, his work captures the unstable space between departure and arrival, where perception is heightened and time feels stretched. Bright colors, sharp light, and fleeting scenes recur throughout his practice, forming images that feel both immediate and distant. They carry a quiet sense of déjà vu — familiar, yet unreachable.
Each photograph functions less as a record, and more as a fragment of experience: something seen, felt, and already slipping away. His works resonate with viewers drawn to movement, memory, and the emotional texture of everyday life. Rather than presenting fixed narratives, the images remain open — allowing each viewer to project their own journeys, memories, and sense of distance.
For collectors, these works offer not only a visual experience, but a lasting atmosphere — something that continues to unfold over time.
