Ho Siu-kee 何兆基
The Constrained Body / 有限身
Hong Kong Arts Centre, 2010

A substantial publication devoted to the sculptural and performance-based practice of Hong Kong artist Ho Siu-kee, whose work explores the body as a site of perception, restriction, movement and spatial awareness.

The publication developed from Ho’s The Constrained Body project and follows his 2009 solo exhibition at Grotto Fine Art, Hong Kong. Ho’s wider practice frequently employs specially constructed devices, bodily actions and sculptural apparatus to investigate how the human body experiences physical limits, balance and space. His official artist CV lists The Constrained Body as a book publication issued by Hong Kong Arts Centre in July 2010, supported by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.

The book also includes critical writing on Ho’s practice, including Fiona Wong Lai-ching’s essay “Sculpting Perception – The Works of Ho Siu-kee.”
